Emotional
Beginnings is a curriculum and on-site training process used by
childcare professionals to increase the emotional availability and
relationship building skills of infant and toddler caregivers.
The Emotional Beginnings Program

· Advocates best practice in quality child care.

· Was developed in collaboration with the Erikson Institute, Chicago.

· Teaches the theory and practical application of emotional responsive caregiving in ten monthly topics.

· Is based on brain development research and emotional development theory.

· Provides an experiential curriculum where
caregivers attend monthly In-Service Sessions, develop a personal
application plan and practice new skills with the support of a
knowledgeable and caring mentor/coach.

· Enhances the expertise and level of professionalism of the caregiver.

· Is applicable to both Center and Home-Based Child Care Programs.

· Offers contact hours and college credit to participating caregivers.

· Offers Training and technical support for a Childcare Professional to become an Emotional Beginnings Site Coordinator.

· Is most effective when facilitated by a trained Emotional Beginnings Site Coordinator.
